Stage 03 of 08

Business Model and Offer

Clarify the value you deliver, how you price it and how the business makes money.

Objective

Shape an offer that a specific customer understands quickly, values clearly and can buy easily — at a price that supports the business.

Why it matters

Marketing cannot fix an offer that is unclear or poorly priced. A well-shaped offer makes every channel work harder because the promise is easier to communicate and easier to say yes to.

Important questions

  • What exactly does the customer get, and what result does it help them achieve?
  • What is the price, and what is it anchored against in the customer’s mind?
  • Is the offer easy to start with, or does it demand a big first commitment?
  • How does the business make money over time: one-off, repeat or recurring?
  • What would make the offer hard for a competitor to copy?

Practical checklist

  • Describe the offer in terms of the customer’s outcome.
  • List what is included and what is not.
  • Test the price with real conversations before printing it everywhere.
  • Design an easy first step for new customers.
  • Calculate what a customer is worth over time versus what it costs to win them.

Common mistakes

  • Pricing by copying competitors without understanding their model.
  • Packing every feature into the offer instead of the ones customers value.
  • Ignoring how much it costs to acquire a customer.

You are ready to move on when…

  • A new prospect understands what they get and what it costs within a minute.
  • You know roughly how much you can afford to spend to win a customer.
